If You LIke Root Beer

here is a great idea. i thought of this a while back and it took me a long time to try it out but now i love the stuff. buy your favorite brand of root beer. really good root beer is kind of hard to find. barqs, a&w, hires... etc are all too sweet for me. safeway's parkers brand root beer is the best i've ever found. there isnt a safeway around elkford for miles. i think the nearest is lethbridge. so while you're there, pick me up some parkers root beer and some ouzo or sambuca. if you want to make it a really strong drink, go ahead and add some dark rum. this is so good. ouzo and sambuca are from italy or greece and they taste like anise (black licorice) this goes with root beer like a son of a gun.

sambuca and ouzo are both clear and when mixed with clear water turn milky white. its really kinda cool to watch.

try mixing them with cola. i bet thats good too, and because they are both so sweet they also work excellently to sweeten your coffee.

ps. saparilla is like root

facebook graffiti

i have been going nuts about this facebook application called "graffiti". it has been around for quite some time but i recently discovered the "replay" function. this was what made me go nuts about it. the replay function allows you to watch someones work being created from scratch. you can speed it up or slow it down. watching other peoples work encouraged me to do a higher quality drawing than i had done before. so i sat down and drew/ copied the frog from a post card we brought back from costa rica. the replay function also inspired me to play around with the possibility of animation and i ended up with the guitar drawing. that one was made purely for watching in replay. if i post the link you can probably watch and comment on it. (it probably matters if you have the latest macromedia flash)

im happy that i discovered how to save the pictures and post them on here for those of you that hate facebook.

ps. these photos are in .png format. i have no idea if you'll be able to see ...

a nice evening drink (improvised)

ok i have decided that i really like having a shot of kahlua in a large glass of milk. i would say that i like it almost as much as a glass of chocolate milk (if not more). BUT, i have finished our bottle of kahlua so what do i do? well we happen to have some chai mix. it is a liquid in a carton just like a carton of juice. so here is the drink that i have come up with: i shot of spiced rum, 4-5 shots of chia mix and fill the rest of a large glass with milk. now if you like, you can throw in a dash of cocoa and a tiny splash of vanilla. mix it up with whatever you like. we have a tiny whisker/frother from ikea and that works really well. this is a really tasty drink. and, you can throw a dollup of whipped cream on the top if you want to make it a bonified girly

i am going to get alittle spiritual on your ass.

please read the warning before you watch the video. i've been up late and for some reason this study on humans seems so very relevant/important to me right now.<br><br>Christmas... i cant help but think of that commercial... "Giving... thats the thing..." altho giving is very important to Christmas and among other things that are indeed important... it is NOT the most important thing about Christmas... you have to ask yourself: "why was Jesus born? and did we need Him at all? Why cant we just have santa?<br><br>please don't watch this if you are in a happy mood and want to stay that way... altho i feel like this is something that everyone in the world should watch. why? because this is normal. this is the average (majority of) human reaction. think about it, and think about it hard. humans amaze me. why? because we are capable of great things. both good and evil. are we inherently good? no. this is a choice that we can(and have to) make in every moment of our lives. this video is important to remind u...

december learnings on wikipedia

-----------------------------december 22nd learnings------------------------<br><br>so the other day i was concerned about aluminium in my diet and where i might be absorbing aluminium. i had heard something a while back about alziemers patients having aluminium <a rel="nofollow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Brain_plaque&amp;action=edit">deposits</a> in their brains. so i looked up on wikipedia (the source of all knowledge) about <a rel="nofollow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium">aluminium</a> and found that it is indeed a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurotoxin">neurotoxin</a> that alters the function of the blood-brain barrier. thats sounds pretty bad to me. i was wondering all this because i realized that one of our cooking pots is made of aluminum (both spellings appear to be correct). i was comforted by wikipedia that "The use of aluminium cookware, popular because of its corrosion resistance and good heat conduction, has not been shown to lead to aluminium toxicity in general." so i am hoping that they are right and will not throw out our nice pot. However i have decided that i will no longer use my precious old spice underarm deodorant/antiperspirant<br><img src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41R8SFAMVFL._AA280_PIbundle-6,TopRight,0,0_AA280_SH20_.jpg" align="left"> because ap...

not knowing (about death and mike metz and maybe dave lowen and Gods input)

well what can i say? i know that people here in elkford were praying for mike metz but now he has passed away. i heard that mike took it really hard that his friend tom james passed away from drinking (and whatever else) and driving. now mike has passed away after drinking and driving in his self proclaimed "death trap" of a truck (pretty much the same way as far as i know). and now... dave lowen might be gone too. well thats the rumor passed around the pub tonight at the show that was supposed to raise funds for mike metz's familly. appearantly dave was at the show and left drunk around quarter to 11. we were on our way home from music practice and saw all the fire trucks and ambulance and police cars just down the street as we were on our way to daves show, wondering what had happened. at the show we heard that dave lowen was dead. on our way home from the show we went passed the site that we had seen the car crashed into a tree (earlier) and saw that whoever had hit the tree had h...

a fire truck screamed by our house... "hoo-hum"... "oh the apartments are on fire!"..." whoooeey!" we all got out and sat on my lawn. Who? pretty much everyone in elkford. it was pretty impresive to see the firemen actually save the building this time. i guess an apartment on the other side went up completely in flames and burnt to a crisp, but we couldnt see it from our side. just lots and lots of smoke comming out from all the suites and out from the roof all over. some old lady was rushed over to our house. she was on oxygen and the ambulance came over to get her set up with more oxygen because they didnt let her keep her smoke damaged

oh my, oh my.

i am euphoric right now. i had such a great weekend. my cousin devin came to camp in elkford and we rode my canoe down the river twice (with another friend ryan). that was so much fun. we were like pioneers. it was pretty scarey what with my broken leg and ryan doesn't know how to swim. and then on sunday we went to koocanusa to bask in the sun. ahhh, it was so hot. after that we took off to lethbridge for jessica's and peter's birthdays. it was so good to hang out with all the peoples that came. AND! we ran into this guy from college that kristine and i hadn't seen in 8 years. whoo (kind of a sigh, type of whoo). and we had lunch, mmmm. yummy yummy lunch the next day. it was so nice to visit the days and the ruzeks. we felt special. and then... and thenn...

we saw a gul-danged cougar on the way home! woot woot! seriously, i have been wanting to see a wild cougar forever pretty much. it was so huge. its tail was really fat and he was sort of jogging across the highway right in front...

music at wildcat days.

kristine and i got asked to play some music for wildcat days about a month and a half ago or so. it was the churches in town that asked us to play. they got some time for us at wildcat days and thought it might be cool if we played some songs with people from a bunch of different churches. now don't get all "you're not going to play that christian crap" on me, its going to be fun. we're going to do about 20 or so songs, and yeah some (8 or 9) of them will be "christian" songs, but i don't think that it'll be what you'd expect. so come and check it out to see us play. we're doing about 5 songs that are kristine originals and they are super exciting (because they are so fun and good). we're also going to do a couple regina spektor songs, some fiest songs, bedouin soundclash, CCR, and even a johnny cash song.
